What is Day Camp?

Summer Day Camp is a licensed childcare facility through the State of Arkansas offered by Camp Tanako.

Day Camp is for rising 1st–6th graders and is offered by the week during summer. Day Camp runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with optional pickup and drop-off in Hot Springs.

Our program provides two snacks and lunch each day. Throughout the day, campers are engaged in large and small group activities, including lots of outside time, service projects, Bible studies, and worship — and we plan to swim every day in the pool.

We believe in challenge by choice, so experiences are offered to each camper and we help guide them through their comfort level, while encouraging them to try something new.

We believe in participate rather than anticipate, so we don't publish daily schedules. We are happy to visit more with parents and guardians about how a day unfolds.

We believe in respect and loving your neighbor, so each camper signs a behavior covenant. This process gives each camper an understanding of community and how we respect ourselves, our fellow campers, our staff, and our facilities. Through small-group devotions and Bible studies, we learn how important it is to treat others the way we want to be treated.

Our Day Camp staff are college students who spend two weeks in training before leading campers. We hire folks who love kids and are passionate about showing the love of Christ to every camper they meet — and about teaching campers to do the same as they go out into the world.
