OVERNIGHT CAMPS
Senior High Camp
Come enjoy a week at camp with all the friends you’ve made here over the years. If you’ve never been to camp before, don’t let that discourage you. Old friends welcome new friends, so here’s your chance to meet some really cool people worthy of life-long friendships. Rising 9th -12th graders are welcome to this place set apart where we grow individually and collectively in our faith. Rev. Dr. Hammett Evans leads this week in a pop culture theme through small group and worship. Fishing Camp Love the outdoors? Fishing? Come see how Camp Tanako can make you a better fisherman as we learn the basics of safety, knot-tying, casting, and catch-and-release. Throughout the camp, we will be discussing becoming not only great anglers, but also fishers of men! Campers must bring their own rod and reel with new line. Please, no toy rods. Hooks, floats, tackle, and bait are provided. Family Adventure Camp
Join us for this low-key, family focused introduction to camping at Tanako. Children of all ages and their families are invited for an overnight stay complete with arts & crafts, singing, games, a campfire, hiking, and of course, experiencing the presence of God in this beautiful place. A separate registration form is needed for each family member. Sleeping arrangements will be by gender. |
Discovery Camp
This 4 day / 3 night camp is for campers going into 1st-4th grades and ready to try a few more nights at camp. Discovery Camp gives campers the chance to stretch their independence and live in a community of peers, and try out some new camp activities. Each day campers will participate in worship; games; large group; small group time with this year’s curriculum, recreation activities, such as archery, arts and crafts, nature hikes, gaga ball, and more; and community living skills. Campers will be grouped by age in cabins and family/small groups, and will be in the care of our friendly and highly trained counselors. Elementary Camp Trying new things is what Elementary camp is all about. We practice challenge by choice, where the camper will choose their level of involvement in camp activities. This 6 day / 5 night camp is for campers who are going into 3rd-6th grades. Our campers will be divided into small groups that will not only grow together through bible studies, but also compete in color wars through various camp wide games. The whole camp will join together for meals, evening worship, and big field games. And of course, we have archery, kayaking, arts and crafts, capture the flag, fishing, swimming, hiking, gaga, and all your other favorite camp activities we will offer throughout the week. Junior High Camp These 6 days / 5 night camps are for those who are going into 7th – 9th grades. Jr. High campers will be able to participate in challenge by choice activities. You’ll also have the opportunity to register for a campout experience called Outpost. You’ll get to spend the night in our hammock village and learn how to cook meals over a campfire. And of course, you can enjoy all your favorite camp activities such as kayaking, fishing, swimming, archery, hiking, capture the flag, gaga, and much more! Diane Wright, our dean, will come in for the week and lead the small group and worship with these campers. MAD Camp
One of Tanako’s most cherished camps, Music, Art, and Drama camp has a long history starting in the 1970s. This classic camp for rising 7th – 12th graders. Throughout the week, campers will be learning various tricks of the trade to help enhance the worship experience at their own churches. We’ll be going over special effects, technology, drama, acting, makeup, and music with the week culminating in an entertaining production! As a MAD camper, you’ll get to audition, build sets, and write original musical numbers. Then, you’ll rehearse and put on a final performance for friends, family, and the Tanako staff. Come to MAD camp and express your creativity while making friends with other creative-minded campers like you. |
